Juggling Time

if you’re wondering

how im doing,

im doing fine.

im juggling time,

juggling rhymes,

juggling truth,

juggling the fact

that life has me hooked.

so now

im juggling books,

juggling hooks,

juggling my mind

before it steers

into the mind

of a crook.

im humbly shook.

look what it took.

juggling books,

juggling hooks,

juggling the sequence

and acts

of the book.

writing

in real time,

so im just

passing by,

experiencing lows

and the mightiest highs.

im juggling pride,

juggling

which side

i reside.

self-respect

can be seen

from two sides—

one

in the decision

to never speak,

the other

in deciding

to speak honestly

for the first time.

so im

juggling truth,

juggling you.

im not really

amused,

cuz i feel used

when i get

in the booth

with a muse.

it’s juggling time.

im juggling by,

watching the seasons

go by,

like i’ve time-lapsed

then relapsed

into old time.

im juggling time,

juggling minds.

some things

stay behind.

recognition

is remembered.

impact

is carried.

so the messages

i leave behind

will find you

in time,

uplift your spirit

when you’re caught

in a moment

of truth.

everything

im juggling

eventually

becomes something.

i light

the spliff up—

it’s like

lighting a fuse.

im ready

to blow.

my life

ain’t for show.
