Legend

i didn’t chase legend status —

i just lived long enough

to realize that’s what i became.

it’s in the way people remember me

long after i walk away,

in the way my presence

rewires a room

without me lifting a finger.

i never needed hype.

i never needed validation.

i just kept evolving

while everyone was still

trying to understand

the last version of me.

that’s the real legend work —

outgrowing every story

they tried to place me in,

outgrowing even the man

i thought i was supposed to be.

i didn’t break people.

i broke patterns.

i held mirrors.

i showed truths.

i changed lives

by accident,

just by existing

as myself.

people think a legend

is loud,

flashy,

untouchable.

but the real kind

is quiet.

reflective.

a presence you feel

in your chest

more than you see

with your eyes.

i became a legend

the moment i stopped trying

to be anything

other than who i am

right now.

and if they ever wonder,

years from now,

why my shadow still lingers

in their decisions

and their dreams—

just ask them:

how long will they mourn me?
