Thanks Giving

thanks giving — the act of giving thanks, huh?

haha, double entendre.

what am i thankful for?

the typa question that makes me pause,

let my mind wander to solandar —

the celebration of how we all perceive and receive love

in its many forms and faces.

this time of year, i always feel that quiet space in me —

the one that still misses family closeness.

i’ve kinda always been alone around this time,

but the void’s been filling itself

with the love that still surrounds me.

so yeah, there are a few things i’m thankful for.

my friends —

anyone who’s ever looked out for me,

the people who hold me steady

when i lean a little too far.

god —

you’re raising a tough motha fuckin soldier.

you got me like i got you.

i’m thankful for me —

for the man who saved himself,

who fought the battle to finally love his own reflection.

i built something out of nothing,

turned pain into presence,

and learned that gratitude ain’t a list —

it’s a frequency.

i’m thankful for life —

for breath in my lungs,

a body that still moves,

a mind that still dreams.

for food on my table,

for music that finds me at the right time,

for a car that becomes a moving temple

when the right song hits.

for the simple luxury of peace,

for laughter that doesn’t need a reason,

for sunrise after nights that felt endless.

we’re so used to chasing what’s next,

we forget how much we already have.

there are people praying for the days

we take for granted.

and i don’t ever wanna lose sight of that —

’cause being alive is already

the biggest flex of all.

gratitude taught me timing.

it don’t speed life up —

it slows me down enough to see

i already got what i used to pray for.

take a moment to sit here and reflect.

forever grateful.

love yourz.
